Glacier National Park is more than just a landscape, it is home to the Blackfeet, where the land and mountains carry stories, history and identity. This project will create a visual identity that brings forward more authentic representation of the Blackfeet people, weaving cultural narratives, symbolism, and history into the design system. The rebrand honors the park’s breathtaking natural beauty but also acknowledges its deeper cultural roots, offering visitors a clearer understanding of its heritage. Through thoughtful design, this rebrand will revitalize how Glacier is presented to the world–moving beyond surface-level visuals to a brand that respects the land, celebrates its history, and connects people to its cultural significance.

My goal is to honor the deep connection the Blackfeet people have to this land by marking former encampment sites with symbolic tipi structures. For thousands of years, the Blackfeet lived, traveled, and thrived here, building seasonal camps near rivers, valleys, and mountain foothills. Although the land was taken when the park was established in 1910, their presence and cultural ties have never disappeared. These markers serve as a tribute to those living sites and recognize the enduring relationship between the Blackfeet people and this landscape.

Sun Tours was established in 1992 by Ed Deroiser in response to the limited and often inaccurate representation of Blackfeet history presented by the Red Bus Tours in Glacier National Park.
Today, the vision is to reposition Sun Tours as the leading tour provider in the park—one that offers visitors an authentic, culturally grounded understanding of the land through the voices and history of the Blackfeet people.
